Colorado RV & Tent Camping
Camping, fishing, and picnicking are available in most
of Colorado’s state parks; however, if it is camping you
want
then it is recommended that you make a reservation (800-678-2267)
to secure your spot.
Colorado Springs Camp Sites
About a 10 minute drive from downtown is the no-frills, Garden of the Gods
Campground (800-248-9451) where you will find great views
of Pike’s Peak. The campground is set up for RVs,
camper cabins, and tent sites and has hook-ups, internet
access, and phone lines.
For a campground that offers more than the basics, reserve
your spot at the KOA Colorado Springs South (800-562-8609).
The KOA has 300 RV sites and is convenient to the Pike’s
Peak International Raceway.
The campground offers organized events and meals, phone
lines, laundry services, an outdoor pool, a whirl pool,
miniature golf, and wireless internet service.
Cortez Camp Sites
For primitive campsites, check out the Ute Mountain Park (800-847-5485). This 125,000 acre park offers guided tours—walking as well as driving-- (no self guided tours allowed) beginning at the visitor’s center, areas for exploration and summertime backpacking trips. There is not a grocery store on the premise, so be sure to have plenty of food supplies, the visitor’s center does have soda and bottled water.
Denver Camp Sites
At the Deluxe RV Park (303-425-0452) you will find a wide selection of campsites.
Most sites have full hook-ups. There is an abundance of
grass and trees with tent sites interspersed throughout.
Also available are showers, phones, a pool, laundry services,
a store, a playground, a game room, and a convenience store.
The park also has occasional group activities like cook-outs
and ice cream socials.

Estes Park Camp Sites
At
Mary’s Lake Campground there are campsites for tents to
40 foot RVs and anything in between. While here, you can
go shore fishing at the lake, and stream fishing at nearby
Rock Mountain National Park. The campground facilities include
bathhouses, laundry, dump stations, a playground, a basketball
court, a heated swimming pool, a game room and a store.
Leadville Camp Sites
The Sugar Loafin’ Campground (719-486-1031) is just 3 ˝ miles northwest of downtown Leadville. It affords a fantastic view of the mountains and is only minutes from a public golf course. There are tent and full hook-up RV sites along with bathhouse, a playground, a recreation room, laundry, phones and a general store.
Glenwood Springs Camp Sites
At Rock Gardens Camper Park (970-945-6737), you will find RV sites with electric
and water hook-ups, and tent sites. Located on the banks
of the Colorado River in Glenwood Canyon, Rock Gardens is
the perfect place to set up a base camp for days spent exploring.
The Glenwood Canyon Recreational Trail passes the campground
and the White River National Forest’s trails are easily
accessible. Also available are rental bikes, rafts and inflatable
kayaks. Facilities include hot showers in the clean bath
houses and a store which sells groceries, firewood and ice.
Gunnison Camping
The Mesa Campground (800-482-8384) is designed primarily
for RVs, but tents are welcomed. It is a great place to
stay while visiting fishing spots, hunting grounds or touring
the town. The camp has a bathhouse, hot water, laundry,
gas pumps, and a store which carries propane and a limited
selection of groceries and RV supplies.
